I am Sonia, driver instructor and founder of heart of drive. I have had my licence for over 30 years as I was able to obtain my Ps at sixteen.

Prior to being an authorised driver instructor, I was at SA Ambulance service serving the community with emergency first aid advice on the triple zero line, before going out on the road as an ambulance officer. After 13 years of service, it was time to exchange the shift work for more suitable hours and a career that offered more time with my two children.

Learning to drive can be both nerve wrecking and thrilling. We all must remember to take it very seriously. One wrong move or decision, poor judgement or being distracted on the road could result in injury or worse. It is an important investment you will be making! I respect and appreciate this. It will be a privilege working with you and / or your learners, which is why I strive to do my very best and continue improving / learning with every single learner.

I also understand that each journey is different!

Everybody learns in different ways; I do my best to understand this and customise the lessons to suit. With my guidance and experience I aim to offer a relaxed and supportive environment. I will ensure that you gain knowledge and skills that will make you a safe, confident and proficient driver for life. It is a very important investment that you will be making for yourself or your learner.

Additionally, I specialise in preparing drivers for their Vehicle On Road Test (VORT) including overseas conversion licence holders and NDIS participants with their plan managers and occupational therapists.
